Dear Parents:

I would like to welcome you and your child to my first grade class. I'm looking forward to providing experiences that will help your child be a successful 1st grade student. My #1 priority is teaching your child. I believe if we work together, this will be accomplished. I know this will be a fun and exciting year for all of us in 1st grade. I recommend that you set aside a special time each day to look at your child's papers and discuss his/her day at school. It is important to your child to know that you are aware and are interested in his/her education. My primary purpose as your child's teacher is to help him/her to become independent, capable individuals. I hope to develop skills, concepts, and understanding necessary for effective living and learning. I want to accomplish this in a warm, caring, and fun 1st grade classroom.
